LOS ANGELES – March 10, 2020 – UBTECH Robotics, a global leader in intelligent humanoid robotics and AI technologies, has been named to Fast Company’s prestigious annual list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2020.
The list honors the businesses making the most profound impact on both industry and culture, showcasing a variety of ways to thrive in today’s fast-changing world. This year’s MIC list features 434 businesses from 39 countries.
“Robotics and AI have the capacity to be among the most transformative technologies our world has ever seen,” said John Rhee, senior vice president and general manager, UBTECH North America. “We’re honored Fast Company is recognizing UBTECH as one of the world-leaders in this space, underscoring the importance and impact of our vision to bring robots and AI into every home, business, and classroom.”
UBTECH’s innovations include Walker, an intelligent humanoid service robot that will “live” with you and your family in your home to complete household tasks. A finalist for the Best of CES 2019 award, Walker has wowed audiences with demonstrations of its fast, human-like walking; dynamic stability including the ability to climb stairs and perform yoga poses; and enhanced environmental perception such as opening a bottle and pouring a drink, cleaning a tabletop, and writing or drawing with a pen gripped in its humanoid hand.
Other UBTECH innovations include AIMBOT, the autonomous indoor monitoring robot built for intelligent inspection, efficient inventory management, safety and security of data centers and power distribution rooms; Cruzr, the customizable, cloud-based, intelligent humanoid service robot designed for retail and hospitality scenarios; and JIMU Robot, the award-winning robotic building block system that actively prepares kids for a world in which robotics and STEM knowledge will be essential.
Fast Company’s editors and writers sought out the most groundbreaking businesses on the planet and across myriad industries. They also judged nominations received through their application process.
The World’s Most Innovative Companies is Fast Company’s signature franchise and one of its most highly anticipated editorial efforts of the year. It provides both a snapshot and a road map for the future of innovation across the most dynamic sectors of the economy.
“At a time of increasing global volatility, this year’s list showcases the resilience and optimism of businesses across the world. These companies are applying creativity to solve challenges within their industries and far beyond,” said Fast Company senior editor Amy Farley, who oversaw the issue with deputy editor David Lidsky.
